ECA-PR / 03 — Sustainability

Sustainability, in the field.

The cooperative’s revenue is reinvested for the benefit of its members, their environment and future generations, with one ambition: meeting today’s needs without compromising tomorrow’s resources and prospects. On the ground, our commitments translate into concrete, measurable achievements.

Commitments

Three concrete commitments.

Protecting the forest, protecting childhood, supporting women: each commitment translates into measurable action among our members.

Agroforestry
Forest

Agroforestry

Shade trees distributed and crops grown under canopy: durably preserving soil fertility and productive capacity, so that less new farmland is needed and the forest is preserved.

Protected childhood
Childhood

Protected childhood

Preventing child labour through our monitoring and remediation system (CLMRS), while supporting access to education: more than 300 school desks distributed and a primary school built in Osekro in 2025, with six classrooms, a canteen and teacher housing.

Women & community
Women

Women & community

Support for income-generating activities for women and improvement of essential infrastructure: health centres and access to drinking water in the village communities.

Social programme

Cocoa revenue comes back to the village.

Our community development plan runs over five years and covers all nine sections. It is financed by the cooperative and voted by its members in general assembly, not by an outside donor.
