ECA-PR / 01 — The cooperative

A cooperative rooted in Robert-Porte.

Founded in 2012 and export-licensed since 2021, COOP.CA-ECAPR brings together more than 1,500 farmers around a single origin, and reinvests its revenue in its members, their children and their forest.

Our story

Cocoa with a name and an origin.

COOP.CA-ECAPR brings together more than 1,500 growers around the village of Robert-Porte, 22 km from Soubré. From the family plot to the warehouse, we aggregate, check and export cocoa where every bag is linked to a farmer and a section.

This is not an anonymous brand. It is a structured farmers’ organisation, licensed to export, that reinvests its revenue in its members, their children and their forest. Sourcing from ECA-PR means buying a readable origin, not an indistinct lot.

A word from the chairman

Turning the cooperative into a real business.

“I am Sawadogo Abdoul Wahab, Chairman of the Cooperative Society with Board of Directors of the Eco-Farmers and Producers of Robert-Porte, COOP.CA-ECAPR.

Founded in 2012, our cooperative then had 540 members. Today it brings together more than 1,500 active members, certified Rainforest Alliance and Fairtrade. As chairman, I rely on six board members with whom I work in complete harmony.”

Our objectives
  • 01

    Protecting children

The fight against the worst forms of child labour remains our first priority, on every plot and in every section.

  • 02

    Collecting and selling

Aggregating our members’ output, checking it and selling it on terms that are fair and readable for the buyer and the grower alike.

  • 03

    Improving living conditions

Safeguarding the well-being of our members and durably raising the income of farming families.

  • 04

    Developing communities

A five-year community development plan (schools, boreholes, section tracks, input distribution), 45% completed to date.

Our vision

“Building international partnerships, exporting our own cocoa under the COOPEX licence, raising our members’ yields through better farming practices, and replanting trees to fight climate change.”
